Russell Gray at Coalburn
Coalburn Silver, Bronze and Intermediate Bands were thrilled
to welcome Yamaha Instrumentalist Russell Gray for a wonderful weekend of
events.
Russell, who has a long association with the band, took rehearsals as well as running a master class and performing as guest soloist at the band’s Commonwealth Concert at South Wishaw Church.
The highlight of the weekend was the concert, where Russell wowed the audience with performances of Zelda, Faith, Maid of the Mist and the duet The Prayer.
Russell conducted the Silver Band for Paul Lovatt Coopers’ ‘When Thunder Calls’ and the finale ‘Highland Cathedral’. He also led the children’s band, Coalburn Bronze Band as they performed four items for the appreciative audience.
Band President Alan Court commented ‘The band are indebted to Yamaha for the services of Russell. We have had the most fabulous of weekends and all of our ensembles have benefitted. We look forward to welcoming him back very soon’’
