Brass Mania coming to South Lanarkshrie
On Sunday 19th August 2012, world famous Tuba Star Les Neish will visit South Lanarkshire.
Coalburn Silver Band is hosting the event in association with Besson Musical Instruments.
Les will be leading a series of brass workshops for children; he will give a master class on the tuba, adjudicate a solo competition for the young folk and then as a finale play a mini concert with the Silver Band. Coalburn Bronze Band and Leadhills Brass Band will be attending the event being held in Woodpark Primary School, Priory Road, Lesmahagow.
The fun starts at 10am and is completely free, participants are asked to bring a packed lunch, and a tuck shop will be available on the day.The event is open to anyone with an interest in playing brass or percussion instruments and a fabulous day is guaranteed.
Band President Alan Court commented ‘’this is a real coupe having Les appear in Lesmahagow, he is without doubt one of the greatest tuba players on the planet. More importantly he is a fabulous communicator and wonderful educator, he has the gift of making brass playing real fun and has been an inspiration to thousands of budding young brass players throughout UK and Europe.
