It's Tough at Top!
As the band were celebrating victory in the 2nd section and crowned Scottish Championship Band their tenor horn stalwart, Susan Tough had played in her last engagement before for her new life in Australia.
Susan has been an integral part of the band’s success over the past decade and has served on the band committee as secretary and librarian. During her time with the band Susan has played Solo, 1st and 2nd Horn and also supported the percussion section. Susan is heading out to Oz to be with family who emigrated a few years ago.
Susan was honoured at the band’s recent concert receiving Honorary Life membership along with several farewell gifts including a montage of photographs depicting her time with the band.
Band President Alan Court commented ‘It was fabulous for Susan to leave on such a high note and although we are sad to see her go we are thankful for the time, commitment and service she has given to the band over the years and we wish her well in her new life in Australia’.
