The event is free to all and will take place on Sunday 5 February at Blackwood and Kirkmuirhill Community Wing
(Carlisle Road, Blackwood, ML11 9SB) from 11:00.
We have activities planned for beginners, young people who are receiving brass lessons at school, and workshops for more advanced players. Instruments will be provided for anyone that doesn’t have one.
Helen Minshall is in high demand and delivers many youth workshops all over the UK. Helen is a Youth Brass Development Specialist with Brass Bands England and the director of Minshall Music Ltd. Sheona Wade is an international tenor horn soloist, adjudicator, teacher and tutor at the The National Youth Brass Bands of Scotland and we look forward to welcoming both Helen and Sheona to our workshops. Family and friends are welcome to join us at 15:00 for our free concert which will showcase all attendees and Sheona Wade being accompanied by Coalburn Silver Band.
