Euan Meikle to depart Coalburn Bronze Band
Euan Meikle is to step down from his position as Musical Director of Coalburn Bronze Band (The Children’s Band within the Coalburn Brass Band family) at the end of 2015.
The news comes after a successful silver award in the Novice Section at the recent Youth Championships. Euan Meikle said: 'It has been a privilege to work with these talented individuals, and it was not an easy decision to make after the progression the band has made in my time as MD.'
A spokesperson for Coalburn Bronze Band said: 'Euan and the band have had a very successful and fun couple of years and we will be sorry to see him go and wish him every success for the future. We are keen to find a replacement as soon as possible and now invite applications for the position of Musical Director.’
The Band rehearses at the Silver Band hall (27 Bellfield Road, Coalburn, ML11 0LA) on a Wednesday evening and has 25 children and young people attending regularly. Coalburn Bronze Band performs in various competitions, concerts and other engagements throughout the year and has a full diary of events for 2016.
