Bronze Band Perform at Auchlochan
The children of Coalburn Bronze Band were on top form under the baton of Musical Director David Fehilly as they entertained a capacity audience at the Auchlochan retirement Village, Lesmahagow on Saturday 7th May.
The Children played a wide variety of music opening with the march Blaze Away, then the ever-popular Pirates of the Caribbean. They then played a musical selection from around the country, Scotland The Brave, All Through the Night and Londonderry Air.
Tuba soloist Euan Court then played ‘Bare Necessities’ from Jungle Book with the band thrilling the residents, parents and supporters with their final items Groovy Kind of Love and La Bamba.
La Bamba featured the band’s 5 strong percussion team, who played a variety of instruments to bring the concert to a wonderful climax.
There will be another opportunity to hear the award winning Bronze Band at the movie themed concert to be held at Livingstone Memorial Church, Blantyre on Saturday 21st May at 7.30pm.
The children of Coalburn Bronze Band meet on a Wednesday night at our rehearsal hall in Coalburn 6-8pm. The band are always on the lookout for new players so if you would like to try playing a brass or percussion instrument please come along to our rehearsals. Instruments can be provided.
