The Player of the Year for 2012 was an easy choice for Gareth. The Band’s Flugel Horn player, Trevor Gray, who has won a series of awards throughout the contesting year, is a great bandsman and a worthy recipient of the trophy and title for this year.
Kenny Crookston then spoke of his delight in being present at such a wonderful night asking the assembled audience ‘Who is the best
band in our world?’. The unanimous shout of‘Coalburn’ was testament to a band that is not only growing but is made up of like minded people who have a real desire to improve and develop as an ensemble.
